
SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION(SMP)
Scalp Micro Pigmentation (SMP) is medical grade non-surgical procedure used as a remedy for thinning hair, receding hairline, and baldness by of depositing pigment (colour) into the upper dermal layer of the skin on the scalp, as it allows the replication of hair follicles in the scalp, which may be a few hundred to thousands of pigmented ink dots. The procedure is also called a hair tattoo. This treatment gives the appearance of a recently shaved head. To mitigate the appearance issues arising due to semi or permanent baldness, case of receding hairline, the thinning hair, or balding horseshoe pattern. The procedure matches the colour of the skin with the colour of the pigment. Also, the process works well for pale and dark-toned skins and caters to almost every type of hair in terms of colour or density.
The process is done in 2 to 3 outpatient sessions that last a couple of hours and touchups interval of one month each. The duration of the session depends upon the size of the treatment area needing pigmentation. A follow up may be required more than once in some instances.
